Unique Vintage Is Closing Their Lone Brick & Mortar Burbank Store

Unique Vintage is a classic Burbank original. And although they are closing their single physical location here in Burbank, they are NOT closing for business. Rest assured, you’ll still be able to get your UV treasures online…and maybe even delivered to your door same day, if you live local!

Unique Vintage was started by Burbank born and raised mom, Katie Echeverry. Katie has been a dear friend of mine for almost 14 years, and I will tell you straight up, she’s one of the hardest working women I know. I have learned a LOT from Katie. Probably the most important thing she has ever taught me concerning business, is that there’s room for everyone. Healthy competition is nice, but you have to keep you head down and focus. She could truly teach a class on how to start your own business…the right way.

Katie started UV in her garage, while working pharmaceuticals full time. She had noticed the demand for vintage clothes and spent her time shopping estate sales for quality pieces. She was then selling them on Ebay…and Unique Vintage was born. She eventually opened a brick and mortar on Magnolia Blvd simply because her garage wasn’t big enough to hold her stock! She had told me she thought ‘why not make it a store’ since she was already there. And there you have it.

I talked to Katie today when I heard they were closing the store. She said “high rent in that area and low sales due to the economic downturn” has kind of helped make the decision for them. Of course, never fear…UV isn’t going anywhere. A majority of their sales have always been online and you’ll still have that option. Not only that, but stay tuned, because curbside pickup at their warehouse and local delivery same-day are coming!
